Inspired by the great jazzmen of this world, such as Kurt Rosenwinkel, Dave Douglas, Gilad Hekselman or Enrico Pieranunzi, to name a few, the Fred Pauze Quintet presents a repertoire of modern compositions coming from the tradition and the musical currents en vogue today. Influenced by jazz as well as world music and classical music, the group is an exciting addition to the scene and is already making some noise.  Â
The Fred Pauze Quintet is : Samuel Blais on saxes (Révélations Jazz Radio-Canada 2011-2012, Prix Opus du Conseil Québécois de la Musique), drummer Alain Bourgeois (Mario Allard Quintet, Marie-Claire Durand Quintet etc), Nick DiGiovanni on guitar (David Martel, MG and the Skinny Bones), piano player Marie-Fatima Rudolf eand of course Frédéric Pauze on bass, composition and leading of the band.
